About the Western Cherokee Nation's nonprofit corporation, "WESTERN CHEROKEE" What & Why: WESTERN CHEROKEE is a registered Missouri nonprofit corporation in good standing that was established in 2002 for the singular purpose of permitting the Western Cherokee Nation to  conduct
business on level that would better suit the needs of it's
Citizens. The Western Cherokee Nation is not
incorporated; the tribal government simply owns and controls a
nonprofit corporation.Who: Pursuant to the State and Federally accepted bylaws of this corporation, the corporation's Officers and Members of the Board of Directors are the elected officials of the Tribe Consisting of the Principal Chief sitting as Chairperson/President, the Deputy Chief sitting as Vice Chairperson/Vice President, all Councilpersons sitting as members of the Board of Directors, and the Tribe's Treasurer sitting as the Corporate Secretary and Treasurer.
